Aristotelis Panteliades was born and raised in Athens, Greece.
He graduated from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) in 1989. During his studies, he started working at the family business. In 2001, he took over as Chief Executive Officer of METRO AEBE, at the age of 33.
In February 2016, METRO AEBE acquired VEROPOULOS, thus forming one of the largest retail chains in the Greek market. Today, the company owns over 275 stores, both My market retail super markets and METRO Cash & Carry wholesale markets, strategically located all over the country. The company currently employs over 10.500 people. In January 2020, METRO AEBE opened its first location outside of Greece, the BEST VALUE wholesale store in the city of Limassol, Cyprus.
Aristotelis Panteliades is President of ECR (Efficient Consumer Response) on behalf of retailers and member of the board of several entities, including SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises), IELKA (Institute of Retail Consumer Goods – GR) and EEDE (Hellenic Management Association). In 2018, Mr Panteliades was awarded the Retail Manager of the Year Award and METRO AEBE received the award for Retailer of the Year.
