Christos Danezis was born in Greece, in 1973, and during the last 10 years, he lives in Cyprus. He is an experienced media specialist and adjunct professor at the University of Nicosia. He has a proven record in media management, and more than 25 years of experience in content creation and distribution. He holds an MBA with Distinction from the London South Bank University, and his dissertation on the “cultural distance” between the Greek-Cypriot and the Turkish-Cypriot media industries, attracted great interest by academics and media experts.
Since 1995, his ability to foresee how technology will change the media industry and content consuming, has driven him to become an early adapter of new technologies that build loyalty and create engagement. He constantly explores new techniques in the digital ecosystem, and he is involved with innovative programs and initiatives in Europe regarding technology and journalism. He has worked with the European Federation of Journalists in exploring new business models in digital journalism, and for the last 3 years he has been a member of a European Consortium conducting a research about the evolution of personalized news.
Christos Danezis is the General Manager of Sigmalive Ltd, the market leader in digital publishing, and a member of DIAS Publishing House Ltd, the largest media group in Cyprus. He is the Vice President of the Cyprus Online Publishers Association and a member of the Cyprus Media Ethics Committee as well as, the Union of Cyprus Journalists.
