Chairman, Lyktos Group, Greece


Mr. Michalis Sallas is the Chairman of “LYKTOS GROUP”, an investment group of companies with activities in the energy field, in innovative technologies and the wine industry through “SEMELI”, a leading Greek winery and one of the country’s most significant wine-related developments. Lyktos Group has also invested in the banking sector as a strategic investor in “Pancreta Cooperative Bank”. 

Mr. Sallas holds the title of Honorary Chairman of “PIRAEUS BANK” that he established and served as Chairman of the BOD for 25 years, until his resignation on July 2016. He played an active role in the process of deregulation, modernization and the development of the Greek financial sector. Mr. Sallas also served as Chairman of the Capital Markets Committee.

Mr. Sallas studied Economic Science at the Athens University and obtained his PhD from the University of Heidelberg. He was a professor of Econometrics at the Panteion University in Athens.
